One of our top Canopy community requests was to have more question time for our start-ups to better understand their businesses and hear more from our mentors.
So, we are kicking off the 2023 New Year with exactly that!
With our established business mentors: Jana, Oriana and Tijana, we got to hear from 3 fantastic start-ups in an online ‘remote style’ Demo Night.
Andrew | Enomony
Andrew has created an A.I service that works out if a marketing ad campaign will be successful or not.
It’s estimated that an average of $150bn is wasted by companies as 80% of ads are seen as ‘white noise’ to consumers.
His company Emonomy uses analyses and predicts human emotions when a person is exposed to a specific advertisement. The best part was when told us that all the fascinating images in his presentation were created by A.I too!
As Andrew’s start-up is still in its early stages, he is working out if this technology can be sold to his customers as a SaaS product or as a platform. If it’s the latter, Emonomy will test emotional responses to an ad and pass this data to the company’s marketing teams.
Georges | Worlk
Georges understands the desire to work remotely and how the pandemic opened people up to new ways of working.
However, employers around the world are now losing top talent to companies that still offer flexible and remote work experiences. In fact:
55% of employees quit if they are not allowed to continue remote work.
George’s company, Worlk, lets you swap with other offices to give you a new remote location. You still work with your company, but from Spain, America, the UK or whatever location you want to support your lifestyle. Worlk is also cheaper than most coworking spaces and George’s goal is to let the employee only pay for travel since the subscription is paid by employers only. The employees can work from anywhere and their employers can finally fill their unused office space with a diverse community of working professionals.
Accommodation support is also in its trial stages as a spin-off of the Worlk coworking space business model.
Paulo | twoimpulse
By 2025, 1/5 of the world’s energy will be used by data centres.
Paulo is working to save this energy using his company, Two Impulse
Most data centres have efficiency issues with energy being their biggest cost factor.
Two Impulse, however, promises up to 25% in energy savings. His business is run by
‘DeepMind’ research, which uses advanced statistics and A.I to work out the most efficient way to run the centres.
The start-up is already supporting IP Telecom as a core customer and has saved a drastic 22% of IP Telecom’s energy consumption already!
Well done, Paulo!
